Therapy Approach
EMDR
Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) is an evidence-based treatment for trauma and PTSD. EMDR activates our brain's natural healing capabilities and decrease distress associated with trauma memories. As a result, EMDR can also help relieve trauma-related symptoms, including anxiety, depression, flashbacks, and nightmares.
Internal Family Systems
Internal Family Systems (IFS) is based on the idea that each person is made up of different "parts" that have their own purpose and function. These parts consist of Exiles, Managers, and Protectors. The different parts of the system could look like an inner critic, perfectionism, guilt, or shame. By taking an IFS/parts work-informed approach, we integrate work with these parts to better understand them and facilitate harmony and well-being within your internal system.
Integrative
Depending on a client's individual needs, interventions and techniques from various therapies are often integrated into our work with clients. Different therapies we integrate include narrative therapy, mindfulness, somatic therapy, CBT, DBT, attachment-based, and polyvagal.
Compassion-Focused
A Compassion-Focused approach navigates feelings of shame and internal criticism and focuses on fostering self-acceptance, emotional regulation, and self-compassion.
Person-Centered
A Person-Centered approach focuses on an individual's autonomy and understanding of themselves. We adopt an unconditional positive regard, empathic understanding, and genuineness to facilitate healing
Strengths-Based
A Strengths-Based approach focuses on empowerment and the positive qualities and strengths an individual has to facilitate growth.
